Ciudadela market is a picturesque place full of history and culture. Its origins date back to 1965 when it used to be a weapons deposit. The Mexican government summoned a large group of artisans from Sonora to Yucatan to show their amazing craftwork.

The main goal of this market is the commercialization of the creations made by Mexican hands, a beautiful place that is composed of different local crafts representative of the states of Mexico, where you can buy your travel souvenirs and share with your family, a little of the wonders of the country.

So Special

5/ 5

LocalPurse provides a very special live tour, led by a very kind local tour guide who takes us to a location where we get to see, appreciate, and purchase from local artisans (all from the comfort of our computer!). It is such a special experience because LocalPurse is run by the kindest people. It is also a sustainable way to travel across the world, as we don’t take up a seat on a jetliner. Just wow!

So Grateful!

4/ 5

It was wonderful to be able to walk into the market, see the beautiful craftwork, learn about how it is made, and know that I can take this tour in person, as well. Thank you for the experience!
